THE COWRA WINE REGION - A LEADER IN QUALITY, SUSTAINABLE VITICULTURE Rosnay is located in the Canowindra district of the Cowra Wine Region. As a member of the Cowra Region Vineyard Association Rosnay is participating in one of Australia's leading examples of sustainable development on the scale of a wine region. With strong support from the Cowra Shire Council and from the Lachlan Catchment Management Authority, the Cowra Sustainable Wine Partnership is published on the CRVA website, www.winesofcowra.com.au The Cowra Wine region now has three certified organic wine producers (Rosnay, Gardners Ground and Pig In The House), plus one in conversion to organic. Out of fifteen in the region, this is one of the highest percentages organic in Australia's wine regions. As an inland region with excellent soils and water, Cowra is well suited to organic viticulture. Coastal regions which receive higher summer rainfall and humidity are under much higher weed and disease pressure and are therefore forced to use more herbicides and fungicides.
