Cowra, the smallest wine region in the Central Ranges Zone of NSW, is famous for great and consistent Chardonnay. For the first time since 2002, Rosnay has produced a 100% varietal wine which is a classic example of Cowra’s speciality. Unlike many “big”Australian Chardonnays it is not massively fruit driven, but aims to show a balance between fruit, acidity and sweetness in a wine that is food friendly and subtle. No oak or oak chips are used to mask the natural aromas of the fruit. The 3.75ha of Chardonnay at “Rosnay” were planted organically by the Statham family in 1997, and whilst difficult to grow organically, it yielded a clean, excellent quality crop in the 2008 vintage. Enjoy this classic style chilled with fresh seafood, spicy foods, antipasto, and light meals. |
