This wine is made from frost affected Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (50%) grapes because the small percentage of second growth fruit adds a natural acidity to the wine. The fruit was pressed immediately but shows richer, more vibrant purple hues than the 2008shiraz-based vintage. Fermented to leave a small amount (about 6 grams) residual sugar this wine is not "sweet" but is a more traditional Rose than the dry roses that we have made for the last 4 years. The wine has a good floral nose and classic strawberry palate, with moderate acidity. Enjoy well chilled with antipasto on a hot day.
