Shiraz is the largest single variety planted at Rosnay, with a total of 7.75 hectares planted in 1997, on an elevated north-west facing slope of sandy loam on shallow red clay and decomposed granite. 2005 was another dry vintage, producing well ripened, late harvested fruit and elegant, medium bodied wines.

We aim to produce a light, food-friendly and savoury Shiraz, not a jammy blockbuster.  Open fermented on the skins, pressed and matured unoaked on gross lees.
